Houston’s rich history of swing dancing started with a dance called the Whip. Eventually a dance called the West Coast Swing made its way from the beaches of Sunny California, across the nation and also to Houston, nearly eradicating the Whip as I knew it 12 years ago. Now a swing dance called the Shag is making its way from the East Coast Beaches of North & South Carolina across the deep south and across the nation also. And Houston is not to be side stepped in the process either, because here it is folks... Houston Texas’ first Shag Club... off and running as of May 15th, 2010.

If you Shag and want to get involved on the ground floor... which is always a Dance Floor.
Or if your just interested in Shag and want to learn the dance. You are most welcome to join us. We are starting out small and will patiently work to build a strong viable shaggers’ club for future dancers.
